Bow is a 3.46m Tiger Shark (Galeocerdo cuvier). He has tagged off Cairns in the Great Barrier Reef and tracked diving to depths of over 500m's. Tiger sharks have dark, vertical stripes which are most prominent on juveniles. As the sharks grow larger, the lines begin to fade and may disappear. Tiger sharks are the true "garbage" disposers of the sea. The stomach contents of captured tiger sharks have included turtles, stingrays, sea snakes, seals, birds, squids, and even license plates and old tyres.
